Our Story

established in 1998

Hemingway’s has been a favorite gathering spot. It was then that Terry Drummey brought his island hospitality experience as a regional manager for Club Med and partnered with Stan Hartling who was developing The Sands Resort. The result was a simple but unbeatable formula combining great food, friendly service, and an unmatched beachfront location to create an award-winning restaurant that is loved by residents and visitors alike.

22 years later we are still at it, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.  Diners enjoy one of the island’s best vantage points to overlook the best beach in the world.  Locals, expats and tourists all feel welcome by the friendly staff, greeted and served by many familiar faces that have worked at Hemingway’s for over 20 years.

Hemingway’s features live music by local artists four nights a week, making for a great ambiance.  Come taste our legendary eggs benedict, scrumptious fish tacos or Provo’s own surf-and-turf with locally caught lobster. Dine on our beachfront deck and keep an eye out for JoJo our resident dolphin who often swims by (be sure to ring the bell if you see him!). Or idle away the hours at the comfortable bar, where master barmen like Wes, Jean and Scottie will serve you up a tropical treat. Pull up a chair next to Hubert, one of our resident regulars and talk sports, politics or catch up on the local gossip.

There’s always a reason to visit Hemingway’s. We hope to see you there soon.
